Product sense is the ability to identify user needs, define success, reason through trade-offs, and recommend what a product should do next.
Why it matters
It is the durable skill that lets engineers and PMs turn technical work into user and business value.
Example
Instead of saying “add AI search,” a product-sense answer asks who is failing to find what, which metric proves it, and whether AI is the right intervention.
