Event taxonomy

An event taxonomy is the agreed structure for naming product events, properties, actors, and contexts in analytics data.

Why it matters

Without a taxonomy, teams cannot trust funnels, cohorts, experiments, or AI-product evaluations.

Example

A checkout taxonomy might separate checkout_started, payment_submitted, payment_failed, and order_completed with consistent cart and payment properties.
